FORT PIERCE -- A little over a year ago, CenterState Bank opened its doors to the public here in Fort Pierce, becoming the bank's second location on the Treasure Coast.
Now, the business is celebrating its year-anniversary with the official announcement it will be soon begin construction on a new building.
The new location will be at the corner of Okeechobee Road and McNeil Road in Fort Pierce, across from Wal-Mart. The free-standing bank will be about 2,500 square-feet in size, and offer safety deposit boxes, a drive through lane for customers and a drive-up automatic teller machine. Construction is expected to be completed by the middle of 2014.
"It's exciting to be on the ground floor as this grows," said Lori Wuchte, branch manager of the Fort Pierce office. "We haven't lost any momentum."
Last year, the bank saw additional branches open in Vero Beach and Okeechobee.
Currently, the bank is located in the Orange Blossom Center on Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce. The new location is expected to be complete by mid-year of 2014.
CenterState Bank has been warmly welcomed in the Fort Pierce area.

CenterState Bank is an independent, Florida Bank based in Winter Haven. It has expanded greatly in the past few years, and now offers several locations in more than 17 counties in Florida.
