MARTIN COUNTY -- Thanks to the Friends of the Martin County Library System, gift books were distributed to 300 children in Martin County, ages 3 through 5enrolled with the Early Learning Coalition as part of the Library's "Season's Reading" program.
"It is wonderful to see a community come together to make the eyes of a deserving child sparkle when they receive a gift book," said Jacki Jackson, executive director of the Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee counties. "These books will help inspire the joy of reading and provide many hours of enjoyment for our young children in Martin County."
This is the third year that the Early Learning Coalition has partnered with The Martin County Library System to get age-appropriate books into the hands of children in order to enhance school readiness.
