At its annual staff awards' luncheon, Crosswinds' president and CEO Jan Lokay recognized staff members for their outstanding achievements throughout 2012.

Six staff members also were recognized for their length of service with the nonprofit organization, which has been offering programs and services for children, youth and families in crisis since 1974.

Rosalyn Kidd, lead youth care worker in the Robert E. Lehton Children's Shelter, received the Tortoise Award in recognition of her dedication, loyalty, perseverance and commitment to quality.

Michele Gerhardt-Hagans, youth care worker, received Crosswinds' Dale Carnegie Award, given to an employee, who exemplifies the Dale Carnegie approach to professionalism and positive thinking.

Ann Fosburr received the Employee of the Year Award in recognition of her excellent work as a program assistant for Independent Living Services.

The Civil Citation program was honored by Crosswinds as its Program of the Year. The award recognizes the outstanding work of staff members Suzanne Beacham, Sam Esposito, Eric Fadely, Carolyn Goodin and Joanne Van Polanen in this program that is an alternative to arrest for youth who commit certain misdemeanors, giving them a "second chance."

Also recognized for contributing to the program's success were non-residential counseling program staff members Kristina Talbot, Patty Dunbar and Susan Cron.

The President's Award for Excellence was presented to John Weimann. Mr. Weimann has worked for the organization for 18 years and is the director of the Brief Strategic Family Therapy program at Crosswinds.

Staff members recognized for milestones reached this year in length of service with Crosswinds Youth Services were Lynn Cowart and Tammy Bousquet for 15 years; Titilope Aina for 10 years; Ken Bishop, Linda Gibson and Kristina Talbot for five years.

Regina Merlet, a counselor in the BSFT program, was recognized as the Employee of the Quarter.

Recognized with certificates for training, provided by Gee Resolutions in behavioral management techniques, were youth care workers Kathleen Bailey, James Gray, Michele Hagans, Erik Hasselbeck, Mustapha Husain, Dontavious Isom, Donna James, Rosalyn Kidd, Erika King-Youmans, Kayla Larson, LaShera McDowell, Jonathan Richter, David Russell and Joanetta Waller.
