Where baby snakes came from

I have no intention of getting in the middle of the feral cat discussion but I feel there is a need to correct the writer. The problem with pythons in the Everglades is not attributable to dumping, but rather the destruction of a python breeding facility by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. This building was just five blocks from the Florida Everglades and released hundreds of breeding pairs into a perfect habitat for invasives, such as Burmese Pythons, in addition to African Rock and Reticulated Pythons.
