ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- Dogs and Cats Forever, a no-kill animal rescue shelter, will hold its annual dinner show at 6:30 p.m. on Feb.9 at the Polish American Club in Port St. Lucie.
Dogs and Cats Forever is a nonprofit organization that is dependent on volunteers and donations. There is no money from any governmental agencies and no animal is ever euthanized unless they are terminally ill and suffering.
Laura Linscott organized the shelter in 1988 on Carlton Road in Fort Pierce.
Johanna Apicella has been the president for the last 15 years, and in addition to the time she donates as a volunteer, has donated the dog's swimming pool that was added to their new shelter built two years ago on 4600 Selvitz Road in Fort Pierce.
A gourmet buffet dinner prepared by Silver Platter Catering will be available at 7 p.m. The entertainment will feature live music by Scott "Elvis" Norton.
Door prizes will be given away. Raffle tickets will be available including a 50/50 cash prize. There will also be a silent auction.
All of the entertainers are volunteering their time and talent for Dogs and Cats Forever. All door prizes and items being raffled were also donated.
All money collected at this event will go to the care, shelter and feeding of the animals.
Reservations for the fundraiser are suggested. To make a reservation, call (772) 285-7625 or visit the thrift store at 1756 S. Bayshore Blvd. in Port St. Lucie. The Polish American Club is located at S.W. Prima Vista Blvd. in Port St. Lucie.
