TREASURE COAST -- Dawn Krebs, a reporter for Hometown News, has been named the Associate Editor for the St. Lucie County office.
A 14-year veteran of the newspaper industry, Ms. Krebs will take over the job immediately.
Her duties will include the Hometown News newspaper family in Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Martin County, Vero Beach and Sebastian.
"I am excited to share everything that's happening on the Treasure Coast with our readers," Ms. Krebs said. "I look forward to meeting business leaders and members of the community, and working with them to make this newspaper the one they can count on for the best local coverage."
Her past experience has included being an editor of both a daily newspaper and a weekly health periodical in Florida, allowing her to receive numerous local, state and national awards.
Most notably, Ms. Krebs was recognized as part of the editorial and writing team which was named Pulitzer Prize finalists in 2005 for its coverage of Hurricane Charley.
Born and raised in Brevard County, Ms. Krebs attended school and colleges in the area. She moved to Fort Pierce in 2010 with her husband, Will, and children. She previously lived in Arcadia and Florida City.
