Longtime friend of ACA dies in Brooklyn
Composer, friend and Atlantic Center for the Arts National Council Member, Butch Morris, 65, died Tuesday in Brooklyn.
Mr. Morris was known for his innovative music making practice referred to as "conduction," short for "conducted improvisation." He defined the word, which he trademarked, as "an improvised duet for ensemble and conductor."
He was an ACA Master Artist in 2006 and served on the ACA National Council since 2007.
