The 25th Treasure/Research Coast legislative conference sponsored by the Stuart/Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River County Chambers of Commerce is scheduled for March 13-15 in Tallahassee.
In an effort to reduce the cost involved for our members, we made changes to the conference to make it more affordable. The cost for the conference is $125, reduced from $250 in previous years. We've changed venues from the Doubletree Hotel reduced from $219 to $159 at the Aloft Hotel (still within walking distance to the capital). The conference fee includes all conference materials, a cocktail reception at Andrew's Downtown Restaurant and two breakfasts.
Meetings are scheduled at the capital with our legislative delegation, the governor, speaker of the house and president of the senate, as well as various others. We've made additional requests and await conformation. Of course, there will be ample time for participants to schedule meetings with legislators or various agencies of their choice.
I would be remiss not to mention our 29th annual home and garden/fine arts/orchid society show scheduled for March 2-3 at the Martin County Fairgrounds. We are expecting 100 exhibitors to display their wares and services, thousands of orchids and many artists displaying and offering their fine art for sale. There is no charge for admission or parking.
Should you be interested in participating as an exhibitor please contact Lisa Teeter at (772) 287-1088, Ext. 111.
Joe Catrambone is president of the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce.
