Event to help retired racehorses
Maurece "Moe" Williams, a retired running back for the Minnesota Vikings, is hosting a Super Bowl Sunday poker run and barbeque to benefit retired thoroughbreds.
The public is invited to his Indiantown property as a kickoff to Super Bowl Sunday festivities on Feb. 3.
Activities include pony rides, music, face painting, silent auction, food and a cash bar. The poker run is $10 per bike. Barbeque is $5 per plate. All proceeds will go toward Florida TRAC horses at Genuine Pleasure Farm.

Business summit for minorities, women
Indian River State College is hosting the 2013 Minorities and Women in Business Summit Feb. 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brown Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Tickets are $59 per person. The price includes breakfast, a working luncheon and networking opportunities for local business women and minorities.
