MARTIN COUNTY -- In partnership with Stuart Scuba, Sailfish Splash Waterpark is launching a scuba diving instruction program in spring 2013.
Aspiring divers as young as 8 will have the opportunity to experience the underwater wonders of the ocean by learning to dive at Martin County's Sailfish Splash Waterpark.
Stuart Scuba will offer a full curriculum of courses including: discover scuba, adult and junior open water diving, advanced open water diving, enriched air, rescue diving, master diver and a full suite of specialty and "pro" courses, many with an emphasis on protecting the environment.
In addition, Stuart Scuba will conduct summer scuba camps.
"Sailfish Splash Waterpark's scuba program exemplifies the activities, education and events that Martin County's parks and recreation department endeavors to offer to the citizens," said Todd Foust, special facilities administrator for the department.
"Stuart Scuba applauds and appreciates the opportunity to collaborate on Sailfish Splash Waterpark's educational outreach," said Peter Friedman, co-owner of Stuart Scuba.
"Stuart Scuba will work very hard to deliver the courses and instruction that water enthusiasts want, especially on the topic of environmental protection."
