The comedy "Moonlight and Magnolias" by Ron Hutchinson opens Friday, Feb. 1, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 10, at Daytona Playhouse, 100 Jessamine Blvd., Daytona Beach.
The burning of Atlanta is a wrap, but David O. Selznick (Peter Gutierrez) has created a new firestorm behind the scenes. The legendary producer has shut down production of "Gone with the Wind" and summoned formidable director Victor Fleming (Robert O. Dimsey), yanked off the set of "The Wizard of Oz," and script writing wizard Ben Hecht (Earl Levine) to rewrite the most anticipated film in tinsel town history.
Mr. Selznick's version of Southern hospitality: Five grueling days locked in a room and a steady diet of peanuts and bananas, served up by his faithful secretary Miss Poppenghul (Victoria Page).
Three very different personalities and backgrounds clash in a funny, private civil war as they battle to keep the epic melodrama from becoming just another bodice ripper. Based on a true story.
Tickets are $16 adult, $14 for seniors 55 and older, $5 for 18 and younger.
