ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- AARP income tax volunteers will be available to do taxes at the following locations, dates and times:
Lakewood Park Library, 7605 Santa Barbara Drive, Fort Pierce, starting Feb. 2, Saturday, 9:30 -11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. and Thursday, 1-3 p.m.
Fort Pierce Downtown Library, 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce, starting Feb. 5, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m.- noon; and Fridays (February only) from 9 a.m. -noon and Saturdays 1:15- 4 p.m.
Morningside Library, 2410 S.E. Morningside Drive, Port St. Lucie, starting Feb. 5, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. until noon.
Knights of Columbus, 451 S.W. Ravenswood Lane, Port St. Lucie, starting Feb. 6, Wednesday and Monday 9 a.m.-noon.
Unfortunately, there are limitations since this service is free. The following rules are necessary in order to accommodate all who want this service.
Bring 2011 income tax returns. All income, banking and investment tax forms are necessary before taxes can be done.
Only a limited amount of stocks and bonds sold in 2012 will be done.
The following are out of AARP volunteers' scope and cannot be done: state income taxes, personal business taxes and property income, such as rentals.
AARP volunteers consultants have been certified by the IR.S.
