Pilot Larry Abston helps to rotate the props of a B-17 Flying Fortress to help clean out oil in the motor's cylinders as the team prepares for a test flight at the Airgate Aviation field in New Smyrna Beach, Thursday, Jan. 17. The B-17 and a B-24 were scheduled to depart the next day after testing was complete. The war planes fly all over the country, helping to educate entire generations and giving veterans of WWII a chance to reminisce. The aircrafts are part of the Collins Foundation, which gives citizens of the communities it visits a chance to see the planes of the past and to ensure that the sacrifices of our veterans will never be forgotten.
