ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- Butterfield's Pharmacy and Medical Supplies now has two locations for county residents.

While having been a long-time staple in Fort Pierce, the business recently opened its second location in Port St. Lucie.

"People have really enjoyed our new location," said Dave Wright, owner of Butterfield's Pharmacy. "It's very visible from St. Lucie West Boulevard."

To celebrate, the pharmacy is planning a week of events at the Port St. Lucie location, starting on Monday, Jan. 21 when the pet photo look-alike contest begins.

Come to the pharmacy with a pet anytime from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and have a free photo taken. The photos will then be posted on the pharmacy's Facebook page and people will have all week to vote on their favorite. The owner/dog couple with the most votes will receive $100 and be featured on the pharmacy website.

The next day, Jan. 22, the pharmacy will offer free massages from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 continues the health theme with "Healthy Legs Day," complete with health screenings.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, the pharmacy will hold its official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m., and Friday the business will host a community health fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with local businesses Home Instead Senior Care, the Council on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association all having information available. There will also be a variety of health screenings available.

Saturday will be the final day of the week-long grand opening celebration and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the pharmacy will hold a kids day with face painting, games and more, with help from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Explorers. The bloodmobile will also be on hand.

"We'll be offering raffles and door prizes, sample items and goodie bags," said Mr. Wright. "We're excited to be here, helping the community."

Butterfield's Pharmacy newest location is 1707 N.W. St. Lucie West Blvd., Suite 166 in Port St. Lucie. They are also located on Turnpike Feeder Road in Lakewood Park in Fort Pierce.
