MARTIN COUNTY -- StarStruck Theatre presents the area premiere of Geoffrey Nauffts' award-winning play "Next Fall." Directed by mARTie award winner Jennifer Jones, "Next Fall" will play a limited engagement Jan. 18-20.
A contemporary love story that will make audiences smile, laugh and perhaps cry, "Next Fall" won the hearts and minds of Broadway, capturing a 2010 Outer Critics Circle award as best new American play and a Tony Award nomination for Best Play.
New York couple Adam and Luke are an example of opposites attract. Adam is older, neurotic, and an atheist; Luke is impulsive, a struggling actor and devoutly religious. After Luke is involved in a serious accident, family and friends descend upon them and these longtime differences collide, forcing opposing views on faith and family into a standoff.
Hilarious and heartbreaking, it exposes the fundamental truth that people love people both because of and in spite of who they are.
The star-studded cast includes Equity actor and 2011 BroadwayWorld award winner Josh Rhett Noble as Adam and newcomer Pierre Tannous as Luke.
Rounding out the cast are local favorites Elizabeth Casalini as Holly, Matt McClure as Brandon, Lauren Espitia as Arlene and John Carlile as Butch.
This show is recommended for ages 15 and above (because of strong language and mature themes).
"Next Fall" runs Jan. 18 through 20 at StarStruck Theatre, 2101 S. Kanner Highway, Stuart.
