MARTIN COUNTY --
Mark Rodgers, who represents baseball stars such as Stuart's Scott Proctor and Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee, will speak at a Jan. 17 event hosted by The Experts.
Steve Swann is sponsoring the dinner and Mr. Rodgers' talk titled, "Don't Tell my Mother I am a Sports Agent."
"I am going to share unique insights into the interesting business of being a player representative," said Mr. Rodgers. "I ride the rollercoaster of difficult and great days with professional athletes and I want to share that perspective."
Proceeds from the event will benefit M.E.'s Team Foundation, a Treasure Coast nonprofit organization that Mr. Proctor and his wife, Carrie, founded to improve the lives of children throughout the Treasure Coast.
"For 25 years, Mark has been part of professional sports, not just baseball," said Mr. Proctor, who just finished a season pitching for the Doosan Bears in the Korea baseball organization.
"This is going to be a great night for guys to gather round and hear some great stories."
The cocktail party and dinner is $100 per ticket. The foundation is also selling tickets for a chance to win a specially outfitted Crew Cab Polaris utility terrain vehicle.
