Health seminars taking place

Members of the medical community are partnering to create a series of health and wellness seminars during January and February.

The seminars will touch on health conditions such as: cancer, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, dementia, stroke, heart disease and diabetes.

The seminars will be held at First Presbyterian Church, located at 520 Royal Palm Blvd., in Vero Beach, and are free of charge and open to the public.

Workshop to focus on identity theft protection

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is hosting a free educational workshop designed to help protect participants from identity theft.

Called "Identity Theft: What You Need to Know," this two-hour workshop will begin at 9 a.m. Jan. 19 at Christ the King Lutheran, 1301 Sebastian Blvd., Sebastian.

The reservation deadline is Jan. 15.

Book sale at library

Books that have been donated to the library will be on sale at the Friends of the Library second time around book sale.

Sale hours are Friday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The North Indian River County Library is located in Sebastian at 1001 Sebastian Blvd. (County Road 512) midway between U.S. 1 and I-95.
