Nonprofit presents checks to charities

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY -- The GFWC Treasure Coast Women presented several checks to deserving charities at the end of the year after their hard work raising the money through several successful fundraisers during 2012.

This year they awarded $3,000 to charities and $4,000 in scholarships. The Literacy Service of Indian River County also received several hundred dollars from the Treasure Coast Women.

Presentations were $1,000 to the Forth Street Family Center, $500 each to the Veteran's Council of Indian River County, the Boys and Girls Club of Indian River County, The Salvation Army and St. Francis Manor.
