Despite cold temperatures and the early morning hour, about 100 New Smyrna Beach community citizens and area visitors came out to support the American Cancer Society SEV Relay For Life, Stand Up For Hope On The Beach event to promote awareness and support. Supporters gathered on the beach in front of the Flagler Avenue boardwalk. This year the Relay For Life event is scheduled for May 3-4, at Manatee Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach. The goal is to have 65 teams, currently there are 23, who through fundraising events and community support, will be able to reach the fundraising goal of $95,000.
