Arty new shop opens in downtown DeLand

Chamber to host annual banquet

The DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce

2013 annual installation dinner banquet will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Victoria Gardens Clubhouse, 1001 Garden Drive, DeLand.

The keynote speaker will be Dave Rowan, executive vice president of the Philadelphia Union

Major League Soccer Team

Ryan Insurance & Financial Services acquires KAPA Corp.

KAPA Corp., a DeLand-based insurance agency on South Woodland Boulevard in DeLand, has merged with Ryan Insurance & Financial Services Inc. at 302 W. New York Ave., DeLand.

KAPA, a former franchise of Great Florida, was owned and operated by Patricia Silver, Rod Silver and Karri Coffman.

The KAPA Corp. acquisition is the fifth acquisition for Ryan Insurance since its inception in October 1998. Ryan Insurance is an independent agency featuring carriers, such as Nationwide, Allied Insurance, Travelers, Mercury, Progressive, ASI, Florida Family, Chubb and others.
