Properties being sold in city
The former Bassett Furniture Building, located at 2900 W. New Haven Ave., West Melbourne, and approximately 20 acres of vacant land on Simon Road, in West Melbourne, were recently sold.
Brian Lightle was the listing agent for both properties. Duane Watson and Teresa Suarez were the buyer's agents, respectively.

Chamber installation dinner scheduled
The Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce has set the date for its installation and awards dinner to install the 2013 board of directors, according to Victoria Northrup, president and CEO.
The event will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 18, at Capt Hiram's Resort in Sebastian.
Cost is $50 per person, or $80 per couple. Tables for six or eight attendees can also be purchased in advance.
The winners of the 2012 Businesses of the Year awards will be announced that evening, with categories consisting of Small Business, Large Business and Distinguished Service. The organization also recognizes the Volunteer of the Year annually at the event.
The Chamber also announced that, in addition to receiving the awards, the winners will receive a special Congressional certificate from U.S. Congressman Bill Posey, a prestigious certificate that the winners can frame and hang in their place of business.
This is the second year the Palm Bay Chamber will be presenting the winners with this certificate, and Congressman Posey, or a representative from his staff, will be in attendance to present the certificates to the award recipients.
The event recognizes outgoing board members, welcomes the new board members and announces plans for the upcoming year.
Incoming chairman Danny Timothy will deliver the results from the board retreat held recently that consists of events to be held during the coming year.
The Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, formed in 1989, has more than 900 active, courtesy and prospective members and is accredited with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with a four-star ranking, a distinguished honor bestowed to select Chambers and the only chamber in the U.S. aligned with an international "sister" chamber in Cashel, Ireland.
