The two met in Edgewood, Iowa, at a Phillips 66 gas stationed he managed. They were married on Jan. 2, 1949.
Mr. Baumann served in the U.S. Air Force and is a Korean War veteran. The native Iowans moved to Daytona Beach in 1957 and both studied at the Mary Karl Vocational School. He became a certified watch repairman and Mrs. Baumann became a licensed practical nurse, working at Halifax Hospital.
They moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1995.
They have three children, Craig Baumann of New Smyrna Beach, Carla Matthews of Port Orange and Connie Gallup of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Since their baptisms in the 1950s, they have enjoyed learning about the Bible and teaching others about it.
At 92 years old, Mr. Baumann still drives and they are looking forward to updating their house and refurnishing it this year.
