BREVARD -- In accordance with this year's Museum Monday presented by the Foosaner Art Museum, the art work of Indialantic artist Sloane Keats will be on display at the Harris Community Auditorium on Monday, Jan. 28.

Museum Monday, a free community outreach program that focuses on art and creativity in various forms, will be held every fourth Monday from January through May at 10 a.m.

Event organizers said Ms. Keats, who has been a featured artist in Art in Public Places and has exhibited her work at many juried art shows, invitationals and group gallery shows, will speak at the event to describe her passion for painting and her technique of blending oils on her canvas.

Event organizers said Ms. Keats is known for her thickly textured works that are inspired by the lush tropics of Florida.

Her work has been on display at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, in accordance with the Vero Beach Art Club. She has also received several awards for work, including first-place at the 45th Annual Space Coast Art Festival, a 'Best 2-D' Demo Award at Art Works of Eau Gallie and a 'Best of Show' at the Heritage Isle community of Viera.

Ms. Keats is also a member of the Central Brevard Art Association.

Jacqueline K. Borsanyi, curator of exhibitions for the Foosaner Art Museum, said Museum Monday features artists and guest speakers, with expertise in art and art-related fields and focuses on art and creativity in various forms. Museum Monday will also feature an exhibition called "I Am Nature: Paintings by Leslie Wayne" from Jan. 12 through March 17.

The Foosaner Art Museum Harris Commuity Auditorium is located at 1463 Highland Ave. in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne.
