Saturday event at Daytona State makes for one-stop college prep
Daytona State College has made registration for the spring semester as simple as a visit to the Daytona Beach Campus.
Anyone interested in enrolling can attend the New Student Enrollment Day event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Daytona Beach Campus
Wetherell Center (Building 100), 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.
The process begins with completing a Daytona State application (students can apply online or download the application from www.DaytonaState.edu), meeting with an admissions advisor and financial aid counselor, taking an assessment test (if applicable), meeting with an academic advisor, and then locking in a class schedule; classes start Jan. 14.
The Daytona State Financial Aid Office will be open to assist with college education financing and will provide assistance to complete the financial aid applications. Academic Advisors will also be available to talk about unique academic programs such as Honors College and Learning Communities which include Linked Classes and Daytona State's award winning QUANTA program.

Make 2013 your year for a Fresh Start at Daytona State College
The Center for Women and Men at Daytona State College announces new Fresh Start classes beginning Monday, Jan. 14.
The free, three-week Fresh Start program, sponsored by Daytona State College and the State of Florida, Department of Economic Opportunity, is designed to assist individuals to make a successful transition from homemaker to workplace.
Classes run Monday through Friday, starting Monday, Jan. 14, and continue through Feb. 4, at the Daytona Beach Campus, Deltona Campus and Flagler/Palm Coast Campus. Classes meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Daytona Beach and Deltona) and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Flagler/Palm Coast).
