ST. LUCIE COUNTY --
On Jan. 12, the Ethan James Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Foundation will host the second annual 5K memorial walk for SIDS research.
Registration for will begin at 9 a.m. in Tradition and the walk will get under way at 10:30 a.m.
Four-month-old Ethan died on May 11, 2011 when he went down for a nap and never woke up.
Doctors confirmed Ethan was the victim of SIDS, defined as the sudden death of an infant under age 1, which remains unexplained after a thorough case investigation.
Ethan's family hopes to prevent other parents from experiencing this impossible loss. All of the money raised by the walk will help fund research for a cure for SIDS.
