Fish are coming around - Wow, on Sunday there was no wind or rain, and the seas were quiet. It was a real change from the week of strong winds, heavy rain and less than polite sea. Fishing at the beach is good - Let's go to the beach. Summer is here, and the surf has become very polite. Wind and rough seas made for tricky fishing - A few days of rain, some wind and a sea that made the inlets less than polite -- well, really not sure how to rate this week, but when the sun was out it made up for the rain and wind. A windy but busy week for fishing - The March wind is still with us, and so are the Blue Fish. For the surf angler, it is a double-edge sword. Temperature is perfect for fishing - Off shore, it was permit and more permit, enough so that no one cared about the Dolphin or anything else. I know the Dolphin were happy. Erratic fishing this week - Well it has been an unusual week for both fishing and weather. March winds, it would seem, are still with us. Missing the Pompano, but lots of Trout - Finally the high seas have settled, and the white surf is giving way to the blue water. Offshore fishing good this week - Offshore, we started the week with great fishing from 30 feet out. We had Dolphin, Sails, Kings and Cobia. If there were too many boats in one location, all you had to do was go deeper to next color line and you were back in the fish. And there were lots of fish. Surf and river fishing good this week - How about this beautiful weather? With cool evenings and warm days with plenty of sunshine, I am not sure it can be any nicer. Busy fishing for all anglers - How about this weather? I am not sure it could be nicer with cool evenings and moderate temps through the day. I love south Florida. Unusual weather makes for uneven fishing - It was an unusual week of weather from warm to cold, wind to flat, with a mix of showers and I am not sure if the weatherman called one day correct. Productive week for most anglers - Well, maybe it is not cool enough for the pompano, but it sure is nice weather to me. From the surf it has been blues, whiting and big croakers. Mix in a flounder or two and it has been a productive day at the beach. Early for the blues using cut baits. A medium cast will put you in their zone. Not a crazy catch but plenty to pull the line.
